Voicemail with transcripts
Every voicemail as a note with Apple's transcript, its recording beside it.
Steps
- Press “Connect” beside Phone Calls on Exporter’s home and press “Select This Folder” in the panel.
- Choose where the files go, like
~/Documents, and press “Use This Folder”. - On the card’s Voicemail tab, press “Connect” and press “Select This Folder” in the panel that opens on FaceTime’s folder.
- Press “Sync Now”.
What you get
A note per voicemail in calls-export/voicemail/, named by the day and the caller, with the transcript Apple made and the recording in voicemail/audio/. The properties show who called, how long the message is, whether you heard it, and how sure Apple was of the words when it says. The call that left it links the note.
Pitfalls
- A voicemail Apple did not transcribe has a note that says so, and keeps its recording.
- Each recording is copied once; the folder keeps them after you delete them on your phone.
- With Contacts connected, the notes carry the caller’s name; without it, the number.
- A voicemail older than your call history has no call to link it from; it still gets its note and its recording.
Every field is in the Phone Calls docs.
