These terms cover two things.
- The app. Exporter, the Mac app you get from the App Store. Your license and your purchases are governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and the part below adds only what is particular to Exporter.
- The website. exporter.dev, the site you are reading, which describes the app. It has no accounts, and it takes no content from you.
The app
What it is
Exporter is a native Mac app that reads data from apps on your Mac and writes files into folders you choose on your Mac. It is a program running on your machine, not a service. We do not host, receive or store what you export. Privacy says what little leaves your Mac.
License and purchases
Exporter is distributed through the Mac App Store and licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The one-time in-app purchases that unlock each app are made with Apple: payment, refunds and taxes are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. There is no subscription, no web checkout and no license key.
Your files
The exports are yours, and they stay where you put them. Exporter writes only into the export folders you choose, and a full resync removes the files Exporter wrote there before it writes them again. Keeping backups is your job.
As is
Under Apple’s agreement the app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
The website
What it is
exporter.dev describes Exporter: what it reads, what it writes, what it costs, and how to use it. There is nothing to sign up for and nowhere to upload anything. The price shown is the one for the App Store of the country you visit from; the price your App Store shows before you buy is the one that counts.
Using it
Read it, link to it and quote it. Do not try to break, overload or get around the site’s protections. The words, images and code samples on this site belong to System Operator LLC.
Other names and links
Apple Notes, Messages, Contacts, Screen Time, Bear, Logseq, Obsidian, Claude and the other app names and icons on this site belong to their owners. Showing them means Exporter works with those apps, not that their makers endorse it. The site links to other sites, such as the App Store, Obsidian and GitHub; we do not control them, and their own terms apply.
Both
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Exporter in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We can update the app, the website and these terms. We date this page when it changes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, where System Operator LLC is formed, without regard to conflict of law rules.
