Notion to Obsidian
Your Notion pages as notes in your vault, databases as folders of notes with their properties.
Steps
- Press “Connect” beside Notion under Cloud on Exporter’s home and sign in with Apple. On Notion’s page in your browser, pick the pages to bring over and allow access.
- Choose a folder inside your vault, like
~/Documents/Vault/Notion, and press “Use This Folder”. A folder inside a vault is used as it is. - Untick what you don’t want on the pick page: pages or databases.
- Press “Sync Now”. From then on, an edit in Notion reaches the note within minutes.

Each page is a note named by its title, in the folders Notion shows it in. A database is a folder with a note per row: Obsidian shows the row’s properties, like Status or Due date, as properties you can filter in a base. Links between pages are links between notes, so the graph and backlinks work, and images Notion hosts are copied into attachments/ so they still show when Notion’s links expire.
Pitfalls
- The notes follow Notion: an edit in Obsidian is replaced at the next change in Notion. Write your own notes beside them, or stop syncing once you have moved for good.
- Only the pages you share sync. To add one later, open its ⋯ menu in Notion and add the exporter.dev connection.
- The first 7 days are free; then Exporter Cloud is a subscription, and when it ends the notes stay where they are.
Every field is in the Notion docs.
