# Export Reminders as a text list

Each Reminders list as a checklist file you can open, print or paste anywhere.

## Steps

1. Press "Connect" beside Reminders on Exporter's home, then "Open Reminders Folder", and press "Select This Folder".
2. Choose where the files go, like `~/Documents/reminders`, and press "Use This Folder".
3. Leave every list ticked, or untick the ones you do not want.
4. Press "Sync Now". Each list becomes one file, like `groceries.md`.
5. Open a list in TextEdit or any editor, print it, or paste it into a note or an email.

## What you get

```markdown
- [ ] Coffee beans [due:: 2026-09-16] [priority:: high] [↗](x-apple-reminderkit://REMCDReminder/1) ^rem-1
  - [ ] Grinder [↗](x-apple-reminderkit://REMCDReminder/2) ^rem-2
## Completed
- [x] Oat milk [↗](x-apple-reminderkit://REMCDReminder/3) ^rem-3
```

One file per list, a checkbox line per reminder, subtasks indented under their parent and completed reminders under a `Completed` heading. A list with sections gets a heading per section, in the list's own order. Due dates, priority, notes and repeats sit on the line. Exporter rewrites a list within a minute of a change in Reminders.

## Pitfalls

- The fields in brackets, the ↗ link and the id at the end of each line are there for Obsidian. A plain editor shows them as written.
- The export is one way: ticking a line in the file does not complete the reminder.
- Your first 100 reminders are free, newest first. The one-time unlock fills every list.

Every field is in [the Reminders docs](https://exporter.dev/docs/reminders).
